The Industry Technology Tracks have been a regular feature of ICASSP since 1999. Their purpose is to provide a venue for papers describing commercial DSP applications. Each year the ICASSP conference committee solicits innovative applications of signal processing technology in industry for presentation at the Industry Technology Tracks. The ITT program is geared towards engineers, practitioners, and, in general, people engaged in industrial and professional activities in signal processing. The ITT serves as an ideal forum for collaboration of industry, academia, and government, all under the umbrella of the ICASSP general program.
The ITT brings together presentations on such diverse technical areas as DSP chip design, DSP compilers and optimization techniques, multimedia and communication system design, speech compression, speech recognition, speech synthesis, echo cancellation, video compression, encryption, medical imaging, and DNA sequencing. Many of the papers published in the proceedings of ICASSP ITT describe the application of signal processing in commercially available products such as personal MP3 players, digital video and still cameras, digital televisions and video recorders, hands-free car phones, cellular handsets and base stations, ground-penetrating RADAR for mining, and hearing aids.
There are six sessions:
|ITT-L1: Image Processing Applications||Thursday, 15:30 - 17:30|
|ITT-P1: Speech and Language Applications||Thursday, 15:30 - 17:30|
|ITT-L2: Defense Applications||Friday, 09:30 - 11:30|
|ITT-P2: Communication Technoloiges||Friday, 09:30 - 11:30|
|ITT-P3: Cryptography and Watermarking; Manufacturing Applications||Friday, 13:00 - 15:00|
|ITT-P4: Biomedical and biometric applications||Friday, 15:30 - 17:30|
There will be a meeting of the Standing Committee on Industry DSP Technology on Tuesday, 18 May 2004, at 11:30-13:00.
