Evolution of cellular systems in urban environments results inmicrocell and macrocell overlaying architectures with he-avytraffic loading seen around hot spots. To achieve high spectrumefficiency, serious traffic blocking problems usually emerge insuch architecture if the network resource is not well managed.Based on a normal graph framework, we propose a fully-distributeddynamic channel assignment algorithm for hierarchical cellularsystems using antenna arrays. Utilizing the available mobilestation location information, the proposed algorithm definessoft-information to reflect the local traffic distribution. Thesoft-information is then iteratively exchanged among mobilestations and base stations to significantly increase systemcapacity. |
